Self-confidence is an essential ingredient to being a strong leader. Think about it for a minute, who do you like to be around? Do you prefer someone who has a strong self-confidence, believes in their work and what they’re doing, or someone who just seems lost and constantly needs to be encouraged? You obviously want someone who believes in their ability to achieve to lead the way. When you believe in your ability to achieve great things, it is much easier to look for the positive in any difficult situation. When you believe in your skills and talents to carry you through hardships, you are more likely to find creative solutions to problems that may arise.
Stay True to Yourself. Do not forget to listen to the voice inside that is usually the best guidance you can receive. While your friends, family and mentors want you to succeed and do the best thing you have to keep your ultimate interests and goals in mind, make your goals a priority. Consider the decision at hand and whether or not it fits into your longer term goals.
In medicine, there is always a problem to fix and a disease to treat, so the first obvious question to ask when facing an issue is What is the problem? Taking a step back from the confusion or complex issue and determining what the problem is will put you in the right direction to move forward.
When you leave work, leave work. This means that you have completed all the tasks that you can for the day and now it's time to leave. This is a really hard one to do without feeling guilty if you have accustomed yourself to always being absorbed with your work life.
Be mindful of your surroundings. When you are aware of your surroundings, you are simply awakened. How many times have you traveled the same road but have never really stopped to enjoy the little shops along the street? Enjoy the little things instead of rushing by them everyday.
